Elsie Charles

Elsie Marie Myers Charles, age 86 of N. NC Hwy 150, Lexington died Saturday, April 25, 2009 in Lexington Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Reeds Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Myers and Rev. Dave Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Charles was born March 20, 1923 in Davidson County to James William (Billy) Myers and Anna Mae Snyder Myers. A member of Reeds Baptist Church, she was retired from Manhattan Shirt Co. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Wilson, three brothers, Thurman Myers, Frank Myers, Jack Myers and a sister, Nona McMahan. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Austin Charles of the home, Quentin Charles and wife, Ava of Lexington, Myra Charles of Lexington, 4 grandchildren, Annette Barnes and husband, Mike, Julie Wilson, Tonya Baity and husband, Jay, Natalie Charles, 4 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Barnes, Matthew and Mason Baity, a brother, Graham Myers of Lexington, sisters, Dorothy Myers Myers, Zella Hege, Lena Byerly, Virginia Shoaf all of Lexington and Nannie Sue Blaylock of Nashville, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, April 27, 2009 at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME and other times at the home.
