Elsie Joyce Lopp

Elsie Joyce Lopp, age 91 of Brookstone Retirement Center, formerly of Junior Order Home Road, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning September 2, 2015 at Brookstone. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, September 7, 2015 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Brian Alexander officiating and burial will follow. There will be no public visitation. Mrs. Lopp was born in Davidson County March 16, 1924 to John and Vonie Callahan Cope. She was a retired employee of PPG, a homemaker and a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. She resided on the family farm with her husband John Lopp, Jr. and enjoyed needlework, painting and crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Peter Lopp, Jr.; grandson, Dan Lopp; brothers, Paul, Ralph and Joe Cope; sister-in-law, Lynn Cope. Surviving are her sons, John Peter Lopp, III and wife Ann MacDonald Lopp of Salisbury, Robert Daniel Lopp and wife Linda Murphy Lopp of Lexington; grandchildren, Sissy Cassady (Michael), Elizabeth Freeland (Michael), Maggie Brenseke, and Michael Lopp and fiancée Dana Cummings; great-grandchildren, Christopher Cassady and wife Caroline; Katie Cassady, Mackenzie and Madelyne Brenseke and Hannah Freeland. The family would like to thank Brookstone for their excellent care given to our mother.
