Elsie Swicegood Michael, 98 of Brookstone Nursing Home, formerly of Rockway Dr., Lexington died Saturday, February 16, 2008 in Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Dave Ambroso and the Rev. Jimmy Norred officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Michael was born February 14, 1910 in Davidson County to Cicero Swicegood and Essie Shoaf Swicegood. A graduate of Reeds High School, she was a retired employee of Frank IX & Sons and a member of Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Michael, Feb. 26, 1988, a daughter, Joan M. Foltz, two brothers, Luther Swicegood, Junie Swicegood and a sister, Susan Gurley.
Surviving are two sons, Dean Michael, and Perry Michael, both of Lexington; a daughter, Barbara Holman of Sumter, SC; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Carl Swicegood of Lexington and two sisters, Troy Caudle and Lenora Jackson, both of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday prior to the service.
