Elsie Barney Myers

Elsie Barney Myers, age 73 of Comanche Trail, Lexington passed away Saturday Morning (May 29, 2010) at Hinkle Hospice House.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday (June 1, 2010) at Reeds Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday.   Elsie was born November 11, 1936 in Davie County to James Frank Barney and Nottie Grace Allen Barney.  She was a retired Teachers Assistant at Reeds Elementary School.  She was a member of Reeds Baptist Church. Elsie was an avid golfer, a member of the Lexington and Sapona Women’s Golf Association.  Preceded in death by her parents and husband Ellis Ray Myers, on May 29, 1996.   Surviving are;  two sons, Jan Ray Myers and wife Tonya of Lexington and Barry Lee Myers and companion Rise’ Wagner of Concord; one granddaughter, Hannah Rae Myers of Lexington; three sisters; Marie Beck and husband Clifford, Lillian Boone and husband Willie all of Lexington and Lucille Lampley of Mocksville; two brothers, George Barney and wife Betty and Melvin Barney all of Lexington.   In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC  27292   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
