Elsie Mccombs Watts

Elsie Mae McCombs Watts, 74, a resident of Lexington, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. Elsie was born on March 4, 1947 in Cleveland County to the late Rosco and Vangie White McCombs. She retired from Stanley Furniture Industries in Lexington. Elsie was a social person. She loved to keep in touch with all her friends and family by calling them every day. She was a lovable person who would do anything to help someone in need. She enjoyed painting, reading, and woodworking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Stout. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. Elsie is survived by her husband, Jerry Watts, of the home; a son, Gene Swicegood (Rebecca) of Lexington; sisters, Jo Ann Leonard (David) of Linwood and Bertha Edmonds of Winston-Salem; a brother, Charles McCombs (Tamara) of Harmony, NC; and one grandson, Brian Swicegood.
