Elsie Mize Wray, age 82, of Mize Road, Lexington passed away Saturday morning at her residence.
Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church Family Life Center from 1:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
Elsie was born in Davidson County June 27, 1930 to William James Mize and Bessie Grubb Mize.She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, member of Mary Circle, Senior Ministry and Altar Guild; she retired as a supervisor for Kayby Hosiery in Thomasville, after 26 years of service and later worked part time with Your Pharmacy of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard (Gene) Wray in 1992; daughter, Donna Lynn Wray in 1955; sisters, Estelle Parks, Nora Hege and Kathleen Pickett; brothers, Bill, Irvin, Fred (Pete) and Lee Mize.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Wray-Norman and husband Michael of Lexington; 2 sons, Greg Wray and wife Phyllis of Lexington and Sam Saunders and wife Robin of Fincastle, VA; 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Koontz and husband Carl and Ethel Leatherman all of Lexington.She enjoyed working with the special people at Your Pharmacy who were like family to her. A special thank you to Jerry Beamer for being so compassionate.
