Elvira Kepley Thomason

October 14, 1925 — July 19, 2006

Elvira Kepley Thomason, 80, of Alston Brook Nursing Home, formerly of Meat House Lane, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the nursing home after a seven-month illness. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Second United Church of Christ, where she was a member, by the Rev. Jerry Moore. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Thomason was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Davidson County to George Kepley and Anis Beck Kepley. She was a retired employee of Thomason Meat House and Fox Discount Craft Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Grant Thomason, in 1991; three brothers, Calvin Kepley, Elwood Kepley and Walter Kepley; and a sister, Aurelia Kepley. Surviving are two daughters, Lou Kinley and her husband, Benny, and George Ann Everhart and her husband, Rick, all of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Jason Chaffin and his wife, Bridgett, Ronald Chaffin and his wife, Leslie, David Kinley and his wife, Kristina, Michael Everhart and his wife, Michelle, Brandon Moorefield and his wife, Kim, Stacy Rose and her husband, Randy, Holly Daley and her husband, Phillip, and Justin Moorefield, all of Lexington; 11 great-grandchildren, Emily Everhart, Alex Bunn, Andy Moorefield, Shelly Moorefield, Halley Moorefield, Chase Dailey, Sarah Dailey, Walker Rose, Amanda Chaffin, Jake Chaffin and Gracie Chaffin, all of Lexington; and four sisters, Mary Ellen Kustha of Chicago, Ann Mitchell and her husband, Jimmy, of Lewisville, and Kay Russell and Louise Holloman and her husband, Buddy, all of Harrisville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the residence.
