Elwood Fred Craver, age 75 of Fowler Avenue died Thursday afternoon at his residence after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Davidson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy Hepler officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Craver was born October 18, 1932 in Davidson county to Fred Craver and Annabel Thompson Craver. He was retired from the City of Lexington.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Greer Craver, sons, Randy Phillips and wife, Donna, Dale Phillips, Billy Phillips, Allen Phillips, Junior Phillips and wife, Beverly all of Lexington, Wayne Phillips of Thomasville; daughters, Gail Wright and husband, Larry, Rita Goodman and husband, Doug, Sr. all of Lexington and Carla Seay and husband, Ben of Thomasville, 18 grandchildren, Lisa Whitley, Eric McDaniels, Jerry Blanks, Rita Phillips, Curtis Phillips, Joshua Phillips, Brandon Phillips, Desiree Phillips, Jennifer Brinker, Doug Goodman, Jr., Ashley Hulin, Amber Hicks, Candi Phillips, Stephanie Phillips, Brittany Seay, Levi Seay, Kayla Phillips and Kacey Phillips; 23 great grandchildren, Jacqueline Rose, Keith, Justin, Braxton, Hayley, Allison, Madison, Tyler, Cameryn, Shawn, Hunter, Trey, Jennifer, Destiny, Cameron, Dawson, McKenzie, Sheldon, Gage, Joshua Jr. , Zackary, Brianna, and Dominic. Also surviving a half brother, Glen Byerly of Lexington.
The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, June 30, 2008 and other times at the home.
