Elzavan Davis Hinson, Sr. age 87, of South Happy Hill Road, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning, June 6, 2012, at Lexington Medical Center.
Graveside service will be 11 am Monday, June 11, 2012, at Forest Hill Memorial Park, with VFW Post 3074 giving military honors.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, at the home of Holly Brown, 137 South Happy Hill Road, Lexington.
Elzavan was born March 8, 1925, in Davidson County, to Raymond Hinson and Bertha Davis Hinson. He was a retired manager of Green Acres Farm and part owner of Happy Hill Camper Sales. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving in World War II; life time member of VFW Post 3074. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 64 years, Marie Leonard Hinson, on March 17, 2011; and a brother, Warren Hinson.
Surviving are his son, Junie Hinson and wife, Patty, of Lexington; grandchildren, Lori Ann Bailey and husband, Jeff, Marcus Vann Hinson and wife, Jennifer; two step-grandchildren, Holly Brown and Donnie Brown and wife, Alice; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren;
sisters, Doris Gray of Wallburg and Rebecca Brown of Lexington; and brother, Charles Douglas Hinson and wife, Howard Mae, of Lexington.
