Emma Anthony

Emma Jean Mode Anthony, age 85, of Lexington passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the Hinkle Hospice House.

A private service will be held.

Mrs. Anthony was born in Shelby, NC on April 8, 1934 to B.A. Mode and Zinnie Hulesy Mode. She was a loving mother and grandmother and her memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. “Abe” Anthony; two brothers, Robert Mode and Albert Mode; and two sisters, Lucille Fulbright and Nancy Mode.

Surviving are her son, James Michael Anthony (Tina) of Lexington; her daughter, Shelby Chris Craver (Terry) of Lexington; two brothers, Bill Mode and Charles Mode (Mary Ann) all of Lexington; four sisters, Ann Wells (William) of CA, Brenda Koonts (Joe) of Lexington, Freda Phillips (Keith) of Lexington and Linda Prince of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Shane Craver, Travis Craver and Hunter Anthony; two great-grandchildren, Mason Craver and Avery Craver; and 2 step great-grandchildren, Christian Barrett and Levi Ramey.
