Emma Austin Ferguson, 93 of Abbotts Creek Care & Rehabilitation (Sunbridge), formerly of Carter Drive, Thomasville, died Sunday March 8, 2009 at 5:30 AM after declining health of one year. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday March 11, 2009 at Bethesda United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Hochmuth officiating. Inurnment will be at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville.
Mrs. Ferguson was born in Gaston County on August 28, 1915 to Edwin Lewis Austin and Iva Mosley Austin. She retired from Amazon Cotton Mill and was a member of East Belmont Baptist Church in Belmont, NC. Her husband, Jesse Clifford Ferguson, Sr.; daughters, Shirley McClure Grubb and Louvenia McClure, brothers Clifford Lewis Austin, Ralph “Jack” Austin and sister, Faye Traywick all preceded her in death.
Surviving are son Jesse Clifford Ferguson Jr. of Thomasville, son-in-law Don Grubb of Welcome, grandchildren, Brian Grubb and wife Ginger and Joy Jones all of Welcome. Great grandchildren, Kelli Tesh and husband Steven and Kerri Barker and husband Eric all of Welcome and Melody Gutierrez and husband Jesus of Colorado Springs, CO and one great great grandchild, Corbin Tesh.
The family will receive friends following the service at Bethesda United Methodist Church
