Emma Jean Beck Walton, 84, of Winston-Salem, died Tuesday, March 04, 2014, at Trinity Elms in Clemmons.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church sanctuary prior to the service.
Mrs. Walton was born February 12, 1930, in Davidson County, to Ivey Thomas Beck and Lula Mae Hedrick Beck. She retired from Bank of America in 1980, where she had served as a branch manager. Then having obtained her realtor brokerage license she sold real estate for Century 21. Mrs. Walton has one son, William Grady Walton Jr., who has been missing since February 25, 1975, when he was flying his airplane and was never found. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Thomas Beck.
Surviving are her loving husband, William Grady Walton Sr. of the home; sister, LaVerne Beck Kepley; a sister-in-law, Anne Caldwell Beck; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
