Ennis Pruitt Cope

Ennis Veigh Pruitt Cope, age 87, of Lexington passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Brookstone Retirement Center.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. David Langley officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Cope was born in Davidson County on August 28, 1931 to Ennis Alexander Pruitt and Ailene Shaw Pruitt and was raised by Bettie Shaw. She was the retired owner/operator of Paul’s Barbecue and was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cope; a brother, Richard Pruitt; and two sisters, Barbara Grimes and Louise Miller.

Surviving are her daughter, Tracey Cope of the home; her son, Barry Paul Cope of Lexington; a granddaughter, Paula Cope Sanders (Wilson); a great-granddaughter, Addison Sanders; and her beloved dog, Toby.
