Erline Caudle Houck, 78, of Hamptonville, formerly of Lexington, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at her home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church by the Revs. Darrell Cartrette and Tim Tucker. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery.
Mrs. Houck was born in Yadkin County Aug. 24, 1928, to Thurmond Caudle and Nancy Shores Caudle. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of Erlanger and Parkdale mills. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Jackie Robbins and Chris Cooper; two brothers, Leo Caudle and Charlie Caudle; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Woods Houck.
Surviving are her husband, Balies "Slim" Houck of the home; one son, Buck Houck of Lexington; two daughters, Jane Robbins and her husband, Bobby Gene, of Mocksville and Polly Cook and her husband, John, of Lexington; four grandchildren, Bobby Robbins, Jeffery Robbins and Bridget Reynolds, all of Mocksville, and Paul Cook of Wingate; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Caudle of Lexington and Alvis Caudle of Hamptonville; two half brothers, David Caudle and William Caudle, both of Lexington; and a special family member, Mike Woods.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at the home in Hamptonville.
