Erma Portis Griffin

Erma Portis Griffin age 93 passed away Friday August 6, 2021 at Pennyburn Nursing Home in High Point. Afuneral service will be 1:00 pm Monday August 9, 2021 at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel Conducted by Pastor Mark Portis. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memortial Park Mausoleum. The family will see friends from 5-7 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Griffin was born February 11, 1928 in Forsyth County to Walter Portis and Myrtle Spicer Portis  Her parents and husband Roy Jasper Griffin Jr. preceded her in death. She was also preceded by a granddaughter, Shannon Dellinger, son in law, Scott Dellinger, Brothers:Gray Portis and Archie Portis. Sisters:Brooksie Portis,Peggy Keaton and Bobbie Shore. Sisters in Law and Brothers in Law, Vazelle,Mary,Ed, Floyd and Bobby. She was a member of Jersey Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Mitzi Griffin (Partner Dawn Sundstrom) of Greensboro and Doris Dellinger of Winston Salem. Grandchildren: Tracy Dellinger, Brandy Warren,Brittany Dellinger, Kenneth Dellinger, Hunter Warren, Trista Warren,Noah Dellinger, Addie Ashbury and Marlee Ashbury. Her brother, Walter Portis Jr. of Midway. Sisters: Betty Thrift of Thomasville, Ann Berrier of Huntersville. Also surviving are a Sister in Law, Louise Portis of New Bern and 41 Nieces and Nephews.
