Ernest Eugene (Cub) Hester, age 85 of South Union Grove Road, was called home by his Lord on Thursday Morning May 13. A service to celebrate Ernest’s life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday May 15, at Union Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Revs. Ken Harris, Dr. Harold Fletcher, and T.W. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends 6:30 to 8:30p.m. Friday May 14th at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home.
Ernest was born in Forsyth County, February 10, 1925, to Jasper William and Sally Kidd Hester. He was formerly employed at Salem Paint Company, and retired from Wellington Hall Furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Cub is survived by his wife of 64 ½ years, Edna Berrier Hester of the home; one son Ernest David Hester and wife Betty of Lexington; three daughters, Brenda Pugh and husband Virril of Silver Valley, Janie Berrier and husband Paul of Lexington and Bonnie Fulk and husband Roger of Clemmons; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
