Esther Swing Freeman, 95, of Michael Drive, died Sunday July 12, at her home after declining health.
A funeral service will be 4pm Tuesday, July 14 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Danny Miller. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 3 to 4pm at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Freeman was born January 22, 1920 in Davidson County to Theodore Abraham Swing and Daisy Mae Harrison Swing. She retired from Erlanger Mills after 35 years and later worked for Carolina Panel for ten years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to Flexercise at her church. She loved getting and sending cards to friends and family. Since moving to Welcome with her daughter, her greatest joy was sitting on the front porch, rocking and reminiscing about her family. She was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ. Her husband, Richard Tyler Freeman, preceded her in death, as well as her daughter, Linda K. Freeman Mullis, her son, Larry Richard Freeman, and her siblings, Clarence T. Swing, Olin H. Swing, Mary Louise Davis (Frank), Helen Fritts (Jack), Clifton Swing, J. C. Swing (Ollie), Ethel Smith (Gilbert), and Gladys Harper.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Essick (Casper) of Lexington; her grandchildren, Thomas Harry Mullis, Jr., Philip Arthur Mullis (Sherri), Andrew Tyler Mullis (Jenny), Jonathan Reid Essick, Brian Alan Essick, Amy Kathryn Essick Dally (Randy), Jane Allison Essick Dennis (Jay), and Jennifer Leigh Freeman; her son in law, Harry Mullis, Sr. of Charlotte; her daughter in law, Wanda W. Freeman of Lexington; and her great grandchildren, Isaiah Jones, Sarah Essick, Matthew Essick, Erin Dennis, Morgan Dennis, Cayden Dally, Kara Dally, Kathryn Mullis, Debra Mullis, Donald Mullis, Lauren Mullis, and Ashley Mullis.
