Ethel Annie Irene James Dunn, age 86, of James Road, Clemmons passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Brookstone Nursing Home with her family by her side. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Kinley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home Jack Carter. Mrs. Dunn was born March 17, 1930 in Davidson County to Emery James and Sallie Weaver James. She was a retired Spinner for Frank IX and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Elsworth Dunn; a daughter, Alice Kay Carter; three brothers, Willie Harrison James, Harvey James, Ray James, Emory “Junior” James and Odell James; two sisters, Elsie Rominger and Frances James. Surviving is a daughter, Joetta Daniel of Salisbury, three grandchildren, Cynthia Woodall Weeks, Deborah Jean Brown and Jeannie Kay Wagner (Lyle); son in law, Paul “Jack” Carter and sister-in-law, Betty James of Lexington.
