Ethel Mize Leatherman age 98 of Lexington Health Care formerly of Mize Road died Monday afternoon at Lexington Health Care.
The funeral will be 1:00 pm Friday at Shiloh United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Leatherman was born April 23, 1916 to William James Mize and Bessie Grubb Mize She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and a member of Eastern Star Chapter 98. She was employed with Wrenn Hosiery Company as a supervisor and retired as store manager from Carolina Underwear after 52 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Gray Essick in 1939 and her second husband Norfleet (Norf) Leatherman in 1986; she was also preceded by four brothers, Lee Mize, Irvin Mize, Bill Mize ,and Fred (Pete) Mize; four sisters, Mrs. Estelle Parks, Mrs. Eugene(Elsie) Wray, Mrs. Lawrence (Nora) Hege and Mrs. Bob (Kathleen) Pickett.
Ethel is survived by a sister, Mrs. Corl (Mildred) Koontz and many nieces and nephews.
