Ethel Mae Loman Moore, 93, of Centerclair Nursing Center, died Thursday, January 21, 2010, at the center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Second United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. Joe Coltrane officiating. Burial will follow in Pauls Chapel United Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church and other times at the home of her son, Pete and wife, Martha, on Colonial Drive.
Mrs. Moore was born December 1, 1916, in Davidson County, to Emanuel Loman and Callie Tussey Loman. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family. Mrs. Moore enjoyed spending her time cooking and working with crafts that she could share with her family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Moore, who died October 13, 1957. Also preceeding her in death were sons, Donald “Dudley” Moore, Odell Moore, and Billy Joe Moore; a brother, Tom Loman; sister, Pauline Hathcock; and a son-in-law, Larry Broadway.
Surviving are son, James “Pete” Moore and wife, Martha, of Lexington; daughters, Rita Broadway of Lexington, and Rosa Cardell and husband, Arnold, of Marion; 11 grandchildren, Dudley Renae Moore, Derrick Jan Moore and wife, Michelle, Darren Moore, Brent Moore, Kelly Moore, Danny Moore and wife, Vickie, Felicia Sherman and husband, Nelson Matt Moore, Leslie B. Chaffin and husband, Ron, Jeffrey Broadway, and Helen Spell and husband, Darrell; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
