Ethel Lanier Snellings, 82, of Giles Road, died Thursday, January 09, 2014, at Brookstone Retirement Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Howard Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of daughter, Paula McDaniel on Giles Road.
Mrs. Snellings was born January 16, 1931, in Davidson County, to Zeb Wade “Sam” Lanier and Clara Hinkle Lanier. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, William “Buck” Paul Snellings on March 2, 1997; and son, William Scott Snellings who died April 12, 2013.
Surviving are son, Tra Snellings of Greensboro; daughters, Paula McDaniel and husband Larry, Jo Hall and husband Donald, both of Lexington and Renee Prevette and husband Rick of Clemmons; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Hattie Snellings and husband John of Lexington; and sisters-in-law, Anna Snellings, Geraldine Smith and husband Ron and Bessie Michael Lanier.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 4299 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
