Ethel Gallimore Wagoner, 107, died peacefully Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Lexington Health Care.
The Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Ray N. Howell 3rd and Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no public visitation, however, the body will remain at Davidson Funeral Home until the time of the graveside service.
Mrs. Wagoner was born May 4, 1904, to John Lee Gallimore and Daisy Brown Gallimore. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald O. Wagoner ; three brothers, Kenneth Gallimore, Paul Gallimore and Fred Gallimore ; and a nephew, Richard “Dick” L. Gallimore.
Surviving are a niece, Ann G. Phillips and husband, Gilmer, of Lexington; two nephews, James T. Gallimore and wife, Rita, of Ormond Beach, Fl., and Joel Wagoner and wife, Presley, of Chapel Hill; Richard Gallimore’s wife, Jan, of High Point; a very special cousin, Mary Elizabeth Jordan Friend of Washington, NC; sister-in-law, Bettie R. Wagoner of Columbia, SC; several great nephews and cousins; and very special neighbors, Doris Frye, Evelyn Smith, Sara Vick, Caroline McCree, and especially Silba Rae Fennell.
