Ethelee Bowen Warren

Ethelee Bowen Warren 96 passed away early Monday morning August 22, 2011 at NC State Veterans Nursing Home, Salisbury, NC, formerly of Welcome. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Midway United Methodist Church with Pastor John Woods officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Christian Fellowship Center. Ethelee was born on January 24, 1915 in Sumner, Texas to Clinton Lee Bowen and Ollie Ethel Starks Bowen. She was a registered nurse and served in that capacity in the US Navy during WWII. She is also preceded in death by her husband Thompson Mazon Warren, Sr. Surving are a son Thompson “Thom” Mazon Warren, Jr. and wife Lynette of Oregon; two daughters, Martha Poe and husband Bruce of Welcome, Donna Elizabeth Warren of Lexington, SC; a sister, Rebecca Bowen Wallace of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, “Emmy” Mary Elizabeth Richards, “Eve” Donna Evelyn Richards Ferguson and husband Jason; grandson, David Chastain; step-grandson Andrew Mitchell Poe; great-grandchildren, Nolan Beckett Ferguson, Miles Richards Ferguson, Ava Chastain and a step great-grandchild, Hunter York Ferguson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist Church Building Fund, 9795 Old Hwy 52 S., Lexington, NC 27295. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
