Etna Mae Conrad Hodge, 86, of Sunbridge of Lexington, formerly of Central Heights, died Monday, April 02, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital, following a serious illness of one day.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a lifelong member, by the Rev. George Fidler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hodge was born in Forsyth County on July 1, 1920, to Wade O. Conrad and Beulah Leonard Conrad. She was a 1937 graduate of Pilot High School, retired from Dacotah Cotton Mill. After retirement, she was an avid flea market and auction goer and was well known for her knowledge of antique glassware. She was married to Merrill Ray Hodge who preceded her in death in 1973.
Surviving are a daughter, Pattie Leonard and husband, Craig of Lexington; sisters, Evelyn Bunting and Margaret Truell and husband, Steve, of Lexington; one grandchild, Ginger Fritts-Tysinger and husband, Bradley, of Thomasville; and two great-grandchildren, Millicent Tysinger and Avery Grae Tysinger, both of Thomasville; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend at Sunbridge, Mandy West.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgrim Reformed United Church of Christ Building Fund, 979 Pilgrim Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other time at the home of the daughter on Koontz Road.
