Eula Mae Lucas, 89, of Brookstone Nursing Center died November 1, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at Holly Hill Memorial Park with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter on Bob Mountain Road.
Ms. Lucas was born October 9, 1923, in Montgomery County, to William Hosie Lucas and Etta Williams Lucas. She was an assembler for Davis Furniture before retirement and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Moses Clayton Gilmore and daughters, Joyce Hucks and Judy Bearden.
Surviving are daughter, Janice Fowler and husband James of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Junior Lucas of Ocean Isle and Leamon Lucas and wife Joyce of Harrison, AR.; sister, Jessie Brown of Andrews, SC; and her loving poodle, Taffy.
