Eula Mae Evans Phillips, 80, of Forest Hill Road, passed away Monday night, Jan. 18, 2010, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Wayside Baptist Church by the Rev. Roger Lackey. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Eula Mae was born in Low Gap on June 28, 1929, to Dewey General Evans and Rhena Burnett Evans. She was a homemaker and a member of Wayside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Buford Evans; and a sister, Ruby Moxley. Surviving are her husband, Delbert Hoover Phillips of the home; six daughters, Ruby Morris and husband Steve, Belva Reynolds, Debbie P. Everhart and husband Jerry Wayne, Doris Yates and Connie McLemore and husband Barry, all of Lexington, and Mary Pryon and husband Chip of Reidsville; two sons, James H. Riddle of Lexington and James D. Phillips; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Phillips of Galax, Va., and Juanita Parker of Mount Airy; and three brothers, Walter Willis Evans and wife Penny of Galax, Va., and Eugene Evans and Hobert Evans, both of Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorials should be directed to Order of Eastern Star, Lexington Chapter 98, P.O. Box 1418, Lexington, NC 27293.
