Eula Coleman Whitby

Eula Mae Coleman Whitby, 89, of Alston Brook Nursing Home, formerly of Tussey Road, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the nursing home after a lengthy illness. A memorial service was held Sunday at Tyro United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Randal Foster. Mrs. Whitby was born May 20, 1917, in Boydton, Va., to John Wesley Coleman and Sarah Coleman. She was retired from Aileen Inc. Her husband, Ernest Robert Whitby, preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Ernest Robert Whitby Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Atlantic Beach and Charles Collins and his wife, Barbara, of Elizabethtown, Tenn.; one daughter, Linda Whitby Rankin and her husband, Donald, of Lexington; four grandchildren, Stephanie Rankin Freidman and her husband, Steven, of Ohio, Dustin Travis Whitby, Tyler Johnson and Virginia Miriam Beck, all of Atlantic Beach; one great-grandchild, Jackson Payne Freidman of Ohio; three brothers, Sammy Coleman, LeRoy Coleman and Thomas Coleman; and three sisters, Shirley Wyatt, Maude Allgood and Lena Bevell.
