Euzelia Lopp Curry Johnson, 98, of Holly Grove Road, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Holly Grove Lutheran Church, where she was a faithful member for more than 70 years, with Pastor John Mocko officiating . Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday January 11, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 10, 1914, in Davidson County, to T.P. Lopp and Jessie Michael Lopp. She was a graduate of Welcome High School and was employed for many years at Rayless Department Store and Briggs Toy and Hobby Store in Lexington and Thomasville. She was also a volunteer at Lexington Medical Center for 18 ½ years and had 3000 hours to her credit. She loved working outdoors and being with family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, James Robert “Bob” Curry and Clyde Johnson; a stepdaughter, Jeannie Trexler; six sisters; and three brothers.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Landis and husband, Harold, of Winston-Salem; grandsons, Jim Landis and wife, Heather, of Boone, and Jeff Landis and wife, Amy, of Charlotte; stepsons, Keith Trexler of Lexington and Matthew Trexler and wife, Lori, of Winston-Salem; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Foster, and Tyler Landis; and step-grandchildren, Parker and Will Trexler; along with many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holly Grove Lutheran Church, 212 Holly Grove Lutheran Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
