Eva Jarvis Koonts Shaw, 93 of Mitchell Ave. in Lexington passed away Friday June 3, 2022, at her home surrounded by loving family members.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Jeremy Benbrooks and Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating services. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Shaw was born, June 5, 1928, in Davidson County to Robert Lee Jarvis and Carrie Mae Davis Jarvis. She was a 1947 graduate of Lexington Senior High School. Eva was a loving homemaker and retired after 32 years at Community Drug in Lexington. She was a long-time active member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church where she loved to worship and socialize with other members. She never met a stranger and loved to make new friends. An avid gardener, she mastered the art of gardening and always had beautiful flowers blooming all year round. She loved to travel, especially with her church groups. Eva was a strong, yet gentle, hardworking woman who made her own way in life. She was devoted to her family and friends and was always willing to help no matter what the situation. Eva will be sorely missed by all those she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Hubert Clay Koonts Sr., her second husband Ralph Withers Shaw; brothers, Floyd Jarvis and Paul Jarvis; and four sisters, Ruby Leonard, Pearl Carlton, Lucille Forshee, and Ethel Eudy Daniel.

Surviving are three sons, H. Clay Koonts Jr. (Susan) of Virginia, Jerry Koonts of Churchland and Tim Koonts (Debbie) of Churchland; one daughter, Debra Daniel (Tom) of Churchland; 6 grandchildren, Monika Greene, Richard Sink, Christie Koonts, Michael Koonts, Zac Koonts, Jennifer Grillitzer; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Sheets Memorial Baptist Church Silver Ministries 210 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington NC 27292.
