Eva Lee Canter Sholtz, 85, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Alston Brook.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022, in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Pastor Eddie Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sholtz was born in Watauga County on November 1, 1936, to Ralph Olen Canter and Bessie Eisenhower Canter. She worked various jobs within the furniture industry, however, she devoted her life to her family. Mrs. Sholtz was a loving mother, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Neal Sholtz; a daughter, Linda Gay Sholtz; her brothers, Frank Canter, and Virgil Canter; and her sisters, Pauline Berrier, Lilli Mae Deardroff, and Verlee Canter.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Katie Kearns (Marvin), Cheryl Cook (Roger), and Olen Sholtz (Tammy); six sisters, Ethel Greer (Grant), Beatrice Scates, Virginia Dancy (Bill), Phyllis Church, Barbara Ann Miller (Robert), and Mary Ruth Moody (Michael); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
