Evelyn Leonard Briggs, age 94, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026 at Pine Acres. She was born on May 16, 1931, in Davidson County, North Carolina, to the late Howard Oscar Leonard and Jessie Hunt Leonard.

Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Davidson County and a devoted member of Beck’s Lutheran Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found great comfort and community within her church family. Evelyn loved flowers, cherished her dolls, and most of all treasured time spent with her family—who truly meant everything to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Jim Briggs; her daughter, Suzanne Myers; her brother, Colon Leonard; and her sisters, Doris Hill, Daphene Hunt, and Nelva Jean Gallimore.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bobby Timothy Briggs; her daughter, Gwen Koontz (Larry); her grandchild, Sean Mabe; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 6th, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Beck’s Lutheran Church cemetery, with Rev. Chris Johnson officiating. 

Evelyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and her faithful heart.

In lieu of flowers, donations and memorials can be made to Beck's Lutheran Church at 441 Becks Church Rd. Lexington, NC 27292.
