Evelyn Michael Brogdon, 85, formerly of Mendota Ave., Lexington passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Lexington Health Care.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday night at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter at 229 Mayflower Road, Lexington.
Mrs. Brogdon was born December 9, 1930, in Davidson County, to Fredrick Dalton Michael and Eva Wilson Michael. She was retired from the Manhattan Shirt Company and was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. She was one of the founders of Services for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center of Davidson County, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon David Brogdon Sr.
Surviving are her sons, John Brogdon (Gearleen), Benjamin Brogdon (Tina) and Luanne Tollie (Kenny) all of Lexington; four grandchildren, Kerrie Owen, Kimberly Perdue, Justin Parks and Bryan Parks; and nine great grandchildren; sister, Betty Jo Murphy of Lexington.
