Evelyn Mary Lou Curry Gilliland, 91 of Old Salisbury Rd., Lexington passed away Tuesday August 18th at Alston Brook Nursing Home after three years of declining health.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Friday August 21st at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Bitterman and Pastor Francis Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Beethoven Avenue.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service and at other times at the home of her sister Geraldine Scott on Sink Circle.
Mrs. Gilliland was born in Davidson County on November 20, 1923 to Homer Franklin Curry and Annie Phillips Curry. She retired from Dixie Furniture after 42 years of service and was a charter member of Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack Gilliland, brothers, Jesse Roy Curry, Thomas Curry and Don Curry and sisters Mildred Sowers and Rachel Hobbs.
Surviving are sisters, Geraldine Scott (Benny); Betty Crowell and Lena Church (Walter) all of Lexington and brother Homer Curry (Linda) of Lexington. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
