Evelyn Louise Essick

Evelyn Louise Snyder Essick, age 83 of Welcome, NC, passed away Monday morning, December 26, 2016, at Trinity Glen in Winston-Salem.  Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2016, at Bethesda United Methodist Church Sanctuary with the Rev. Daniel V. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center following the service.  Evelyn was born in Davidson County, April 11, 1933, to James Danie Snyder and Maggie Ilene Everhart Snyder. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, a former member of the Bethesda United Methodist Women, and a member of The Dixie Troopers. She retired from Lexington Furniture Industries after 32 years of service at the Main Office. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Eugene Essick; and a sister, Mary Reid Snyder Black.  Surviving are her son, Rod Eugene Essick of Harrisburg; daughter, Susan Essick Malone (Chuck) of Winston Salem; grandson, Ryan Eugene Essick; sister, Hilda Hege Kiger (A.G.) of Winston Salem; brother, Wayne Danie Snyder (Linda) of Mooresville; sisters-in-law, Freda Essick Shoaf (Glen), and Frances Bryant Essick; and a number of nieces and nephews.  Memorials may be made to a charity of the Donor’s choice.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
