Evelyn Gobble Hilliard, age 89 of South NC Highway 150, Lexington passed away Thursday night (January 27, 2011) at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday (January 31, 2011) at Tyro United Methodist Church Chapel, with Rev. Randy Foster and Rev. Mike Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter Margaret Lemly, 2034 Michael Road, Lexington
Evelyn was born in Davidson County April 30, 1921 to Lewis Cleveland “Jack” Gobble and Girllor Virginia Myers Gobble. She was a retired employee of Link Taylor Furniture and a member of Tyro United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Henry Hilliard, Sr. June 20, 2001; daughter in law, Sue Poag Hilliard; two brothers James Boyd Gobble and Navie Druid Gobble; and one sister, Orena Gobble Smith
Surviving are; one daughter, Margaret H. Lemly and husband Carl of Lexington; one son, James (Jimmy) H. Hilliard, Jr. of Charlotte; one granddaughter, Robin Field and husband Riley of Charlotte; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Fields.
