Evelyn Robertson Logan 74, of Lexington passed away Monday, September 15, 2014.
A funeral service will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Immanuel New Eden Moravian Church with the Rev. Cheryl G. Cottingham officiating. Burial will follow in God’s Acre.
Evelyn was born April 10, 1940 to Albert Luther Robertson, Jr. and Lillie Mae Kimmer Robertson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Albert Luther Robertson, III. She graduated from James A. Gray High School in Winston-Salem in 1958 and retired from Bellsouth Corporation in 1997 after 32 years of devoted service. Following retirement, she devoted her time and heart to caring for her beloved family and diligently serving her church. She was a life-long member of Immanuel New Eden Moravian Church where she willingly served in any and all capacities ranging from baking Moravian Chicken Pies to serving on the Church Board.
She was a faithful, strong and independent Christian woman who committed her entire life to serving God and others first and always thought of herself last.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Crystal Dawn Logan Tatman and son-in-law James Roger (Sam) Tatman, two precious grandchildren who were the love of her life, Sean Christian Tatman and Brittany Faith Tatman, all of the home. She is also survived by a sister, Gail Robertson Grubbs of Yadkinville, a brother, Arvil (Bud) Robertson of King and several nieces and nephews.
Her daughter Crystal wishes to thank the compassionate team of doctors, nurses and staff in the Hospice and Palliative Care Unit of Forsyth Medical Center for gently and lovingly caring for Mother during the last 9 days of her life on earth. Mother is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Saviour.
