Evelyn "Lucy" Joyce Stogner

Mrs. Evelyn Joyce (Lucy) Stogner, age 87 of Alston Brook Nursing Home and formerly of Lowell Street, Lexington, NC died Monday, November 25 at Lexington Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Monday, December 2 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church conducted Rev. Duncan Martin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 2:30 until 3:30 PM Monday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Mrs. Stogner was born June 7, 1926 in Davidson County to Thurston Glen Fox and Ola Leonard Fox. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked as a bookkeeper and day care administrator. She had assisted with meals for seniors. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and was married to John P. Stogner, Jr. who died in 2004. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Stogner, III, brothers John Fox and Bill Fox and by a sister Celia Elliott. She is survived by daughters, Kathy Henderson and husband Allen of Georgetown, Texas and Beth Savicki and husband Michael of Lexington; a sister Ann Pulliam of Cartersville, Ga; 6 grandchildren, Ross Henderson, Evi Henderson, Brook Miller, Jordan Stogner, Emily Noble and her children, Faith and Kendyl Shaughnessy, Jennifer Stogner and her son Jared Holifield. Mrs. Stogner was a sensitive, compassionate person and a loving mother who was happiest when her family was together.
