Evelyn Myers Rachels

Evelyn Lenore Myers Rachels, 85, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Grayson Creek Assisted Living.

A private funeral service will be held at Reeds Baptist Church, where she was a member.

Mrs. Rachels was born in Davidson County on March 21, 1935 to Joseph Graham Myers and Ruth Beck Myers. She was a candy maker, having worked for Piedmont Candy Co. for many years and was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Rachels; and a brother, Stewart Myers.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, David Rachels (Lisa) of Clayton and Pastor Mark Rachels (Tammi) of Lexington; two brothers, Joseph Druid Myers (Juanita) and Harold Graham Myers (Betty Ruth) all of Lexington; a very special friend who was much like a sister, Virginia Shoaf of Lexington; two grandchildren, Jamie Howell (David) and Melissa Rachels (Sammy); three great-grandchildren, Aden Overby, Tyler Overby, and Carly Howell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
