Evelyn Shoaf Sink

July 13, 1921 — May 9, 2006

Evelyn Shoaf Sink, 84, of Ridge Road, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Brian Center Nursing Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Midway United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. John C. Woods. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Sink was born July 13, 1921, to John H. Shoaf and Myrtle Craver Shoaf. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joey Sink; two brothers, John Wayne Shoaf and Clyde Shoaf; one sister, Addie Shoaf; and her husband, Joseph Van Sink. Surviving are one son, Ronnie Sink and his wife, Barbara, of Lexington; one daughter, Belinda Thompson and her husband, Gary, of Lexington; four grandchildren, Ginger Thompson, Kim Smith, Jason Sink and his wife, JoNelle, and Kristy Jordan; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Shoaf of Farmington; and two sisters, Pansy Sink of Lexington and Mildred Hege of Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home. Memorials may be directed to Midway UMC Building Fund, 9795 Old U.S. Highway 52 North, Lexington, NC 27295 or the Alzheimer's Association, 1315 Ashleybrook Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
