Evelyn Sink Smith, age 84, of Park Street, Lexington passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Alston Brook Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Howell, III officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday night.
Evelyn was born Davidson County, November 1, 1928 to Robert Wade Sink, Sr. and Ola Tate Sink. She attended Appalachian State and UNC-G; retired office clerk for Thomasville Furniture; was a member of First Baptist Church, member of the choir and assistant teacher; past chairman and very active in Genealogical Society of Davidson County; past president, vice president and chaplain of the American Legion Post 8, Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.A. (Whitey) Smith in 2000 and one niece, Lyn Johnston.
Evelyn is survived by her son, David Morris Smith of Monroe; brothers, Bob Sink and wife Louise, Doug Sink and wife Barbara all of Lexington; two nieces, Robin Deal and Cindy Kepley.
