Evelyn Young Williams

Evelyn Valenia Young Williams, 90, of Old Cabin Lane, Lexington passed away Friday at Brookstone Rest Home and Retirement Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 at Pine Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Snider Cemetery, Churchland. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday at the church, just prior to the service and other times at the home on Old Cabin Lane. Mrs. Williams was born May 6, 1923 in Davidson County to Philip Anderson Young and Vergie Barnes Young. She was a member of Pine Primitive Baptist Church and a retired Mail Carrier. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Ralph A. Williams in 1988 and also her second husband, Ashburn Williams, three brothers, Troy, Jimmy and Lawrence Young and a sister, Elsie Barrier Holmes. Surviving are two sons, Donald R. Williams and wife Julia of Mooresville, Philip R. Williams and wife, Donna of Weddington, NC; a daughter, Diane W. Sink and husband, Wayne of Lexington; a step-son, Charles Williams; two step-daughters, Betty Gobble, Mary Ruth Parks; three sister-in-laws, Mary Young, Joan Young, Lou Williams; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 12 step great grandchildren.
