Evie Ann Bailey Poag, 79, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 6, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Tyro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Tyro. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service at the Church. Mrs. Poag was born on August 19, 1942, in Davie County to William Irvin Bailey and Ora Geneva Miller Bailey. She was an active member of Tyro United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose memory will forever be cherished. She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 62 years, James “Tommy” Poag of the home; her children, Rene Poag Noonan (Brian) of Charlotte, Ken Poag of Tyro, and Andrea Poag (Megan) of Ithaca, NY; her grandchildren, Amanda Yort, Kelsey Noonan, Loren Noonan, and Harper Ramey-Poag; and five great-grandchildren.
