Fallie Marie Walser Grubb, 85, of Virgie Grubb Lane, Lexington passed away Saturday April 29, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Bethesda United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. Marie was born in Davidson County on November 25, 1931 to Olin Homer Walser, Sr. and Eliza Craver Walser. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church where she taught in the children’s department for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Adam Cleophas Grubb; two brothers, Steve and June Walser; two sisters, Thelma Pickle and Pauline Byerly; and a son-in-law, Dale Sluder. Surviving are two sons, Jerry Grubb (Ester) of Gatlinburg,TN, and Bobby Grubb (Gay) of Welcome; a daughter, Sylvia Sluder of Welcome; two sisters, Betty Weaver of Reedy Creek and Elsie Yarborough of Lexington; six precious grandchildren, Kevin Sluder (Angela), Savannah Burrow (Jason), Madison Grubb (Will), Brian Grubb, Bridget Grubb, Jason Grubb; three precious great-grandchildren, Easton Sluder, Emerson Sluder and Alexis Grubb; and a special great nephew, Reggie Berrier. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and her precious canine companions, Dixie and Maci. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the three nurses that cared for her with compassion and love.
