Faye Beck Cherry

Faye Beck Cherry, 90, of Holly Grove Road, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Blowing Rock Extended Care. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Jerry Moore and Dr. Billy Joe Leonard. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Cherry was born Dec. 2, 1916, in Davidson County to Percy Madison Beck and Eva Eldora Burkhart Beck. She was a retired salesperson, having worked in gift sales, and was a member of Second United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Cherry Sr.; a grandson, Bobby Parks; and two brothers, Waldo Beck and Colon Beck. Surviving are a son, Robert L. Cherry Jr. and his wife, Terry W. Cherry, of Boone; a daughter, Sarah Jeanette Cherry Parks and her husband, Raymond Dean Parks Jr., of Sequim, Wash.; four grandchildren, Lee Cherry III, Terry Beth Cherry, Dale Parks and Dana Parks; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alex Beck, Brasco Beck and Leonard Beck, all of Lexington; and a sister, Mary Kivett of Lexington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to Second United Church of Christ, 330 N. Church St., Lexington, NC 27292.
