Faye Evelyn Whitlow Inscore, age 76 of Winston Salem passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Forsyth medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel with Rev. Billy K. Norris officiating.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the funeral home.
Faye was born January 29, 1939 in Forsyth County to Flavis Elbert Whitlow and Grace Louise Garland Whitlow. She was preceded in death by her parents. She graduated from Griffith High School in 1957 and started working at R.J. Reynolds until the birth of her second son. She married her loving husband Benjamin Clinton Inscore, Jr., July 31, 1959 in Winston-Salem. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Midway Volunteer Fire Department. Faye then became an EMT and joined Midway Rescue Squad. She volunteered for the American Red Cross teaching CPR and first aid. When she was not working, in her free time she would make quilts and other crafts. She enjoyed cooking just as much as everyone enjoyed her cooking, including her famous chocolate pie, spaghetti and pinto beans. The grandkids were the light of her life, especially the oldest Kaitlin whom she helped in raising.
Surviving are her husband Benjamin Clinton Inscore Jr. of the home; sons, Clint Inscore of Winston Salem, Brian Inscore ( Robin ) of Yadkinville, Jon Wesley Inscore of Winston Salem; daughter, Karen Neal ( Marty ) of Goodview, VA;
Grandchildren, Kaitlin Neal, Cody Neal, Taylor Neal, Bryce Inscore, Logan Inscore, Luke Inscore and Kyle Inscore; brother, Robert Whitlow of Winston Salem; sister, Joan Reid of Florida.
Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
