Faye Dorcas Foltz

Faye Dorcas Foltz, 78, of Hickory Tree Road, Winston-Salem died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born there on June 23, 1933 to Raymond Eli Foltz and Lena Spach Foltz. In recent years, she has resided at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 9th at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Following her graduation from Arcadia High School in 1951, she worked at Western Electric in Winston-Salem, NC and in San Jose, CA at General Electric in special Libraries. In 1966, she joined the staff of the Bowman Gray School of Medicine Library and retired from the Carpenter Library in July, 1993. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Aubrey Raymond Foltz, Spencer Morgan Foltz and in December 2000 by the youngest brother, Donald Eli Foltz. Surviving are their nieces, Sylvia Jane Foltz, Audrey Foltz Koontz, Kristen Foltz Hill and their families, all of Winston-Salem. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association 202 Centerport Drive, Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27409. She agreed with George Bailey, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
