Felix Gray Rummage

Felix Gray Rummage, 94, of Lexington, passed away peacefully Monday July 15, 2024.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at Fork Baptist Church in Mocksville, with the Rev. Robert Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately preceding the service at Fork Baptist Church from 10 to 11 a.m., and other times at the home of his son, Ricky Rummage.

Mr. Rummage was born on June 13, 1930, to Willie Aurthur and Mary Lewis Rummage in Davie County North Carolina.  After completing his active-duty US Army service on the Korean Peninsula from 1952 to 1954 he married the love of his life, Margie “Peggy” Rummage on October 23, 1954.  He was a member of Fork Baptist Church where he served in many capacities including usher and Junior Department teacher while rarely missing his much-enjoyed Sunday School class.  After retirement from 33 years of dedicated service at Duracell Battery in Lexington, he loved playing music including guitar and his unique bucket base.  Entertaining at rest homes and senior centers with his musical group, Heaven Bound, brought happiness to him by bringing joy to others.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rummage was preceded in death by his beloved wife Peggy, and twin brothers Olin and Roland Rummage.

Surviving are his son, Ricky Gray Rummage and wife Donna; grandsons, Matthew Gray Rummage and wife Brittany and Adam Preston Rummage and wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Avery, Ella, Charlotte, Bristol and Ember Rummage; Brother WC “Bill” Rummage and wife Edythe; and a host of nephews and nieces.
