W.Finley Carlton, 87 died Wednesday (April 9, 2008) at 4:27AM in Forsyth Medical Center.
A Funeral Service for Finley and his wife Anne who died Monday, will be held at 11:00 am
Friday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Frankie Matthews and burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Finley was born in Davidson County, August 23, 1920 to John Franklin Carlton and Jessie Hawkins Carlton. He married shortly after graduating from Lexington Senior High School to Anne Swicegood Carlton and they were married for 67 years. He was a faithful member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church since 1931 and a veteran of the US Army 63rd Division during World War II. He was a Graduate of International Accounting Society and the retired owner of W. Finley Carlton and Associates. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anne who died April 7, 2008 and a brother R. Lewis Carlton.
He is survived by: two daughters; Bonnie and husband Doug Cook of Mt. Airy, Nancy and husband Dr. Davey Stallings of Rural Hall, one granddaughter; Pamela and husband Jim Longworth of Kernersville, one brother Dewey Carlton and wife Ruth of Lexington.
The visitation for Finley and Anne will be held Thursday night from 6 until 8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to charity of your choice.
