Florence “Flossy” Ethel Duncan, 74, of Old Highway 64, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Christian Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Sam Harvey. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Duncan was born in Yonkers, NY on April 8, 1934, to Charles O’Neill and Grace Mauney. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother that was adored by many. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her brother, Bill O’Neill and her grandson, Bobby Dean Robinson.
Surviving are her husband, Jim Duncan of the home; three sons, Bobby Robinson and his wife, Sherry, of Lexington, Ray Robinson and his wife, Robin, of Linwood, and Butch Robinson and his special friend, Naomi Walser, of Reeds; a daughter, Meg Hairston and her husband, Raymond, of Welcome; two brothers, Joe O’Neill and his wife, Agnes, of Lexington and Charles Mooney of Dover, De.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 .m. Friday at the church on Highway 150 in Linwood.
