Miss. Florence Leonard, a dear and loving mother and great-great-grandmother, at age 89, went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2012.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Beulah United Church of Christ, with the Revs. Avery Varnadore and Dean Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday April 3, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son.
Miss. Leonard was born August 20, 1922, in Davidson County, to Harvey and Flora Hanes Leonard. She was a former employee of the Dixie Furniture Company. She served 57 years with the company, which was more than any other employee. She retired at the age of 80. She was a life member of Beulah United Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Racie Thomason, Kathleen Weaver, and Zula Swing; and a brother, Hoy Leonard.
Surviving are one son, Lawrence June Lanier and wife, Roma, of Lexington; grandchildren, Rudy Scott Lanier, Beth Lanier Brown and Lynette Tuttle; great-grandchildren, Nikki Dawn Orbison, Joshua Erin Orbison, Allison Tuttle, Victor Drew Lanier, Simon Ray Lanier and Eva Marie Lanier; great-great-grandchild, Alexa Kittle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church Building Fund
